RECYCLING ON THE
ISLAND
Did you know we have recycling on the island?? Yes.
We can recycle glass, and paper, and most plastics, excepting only
cardboard. Simply contact the City and they will supply you
with the plastic container. Put this out for Wednesday
morning pickup, and you are in the program! That is all
there is to it!
GARBAGE PICKUP
Garbage is picked up two times a week on the island. Every Monday
and Thursday morning. Usually fairly early if you are one of
the first ones on the route, Bay Shore Drive. So get your
garbage out early and don't miss the truck!
Remember, just because the pickup day is a holiday does not mean
we don't have garbage pickup, so be ready. BUT, IT WILL NOT
BE PICKED UP ON CHRISTMAS DAY - just move down one day.
PETS
Did you know that there was a "leash law" on the island? Yes, we
are required to keep our pets on a leash while they are out of any
containment area. However, this does not mean that we can allow
them to "leave a deposit" anywhere they please, while on the
leash. Accordingly, all pet owners are reminded to either
(a) insure that their pets "do their business" in their owners
yard, or (b) bring a bag with them, as they walk their pet.
